Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am experiencing pain from head to toe. I have a chronic cough that doesn t go away as I smoke tobacco. I can touch the areas in my body that give me the most pain. It is the right side of my head, right side of my throat, right side of my spine lower than the heart, lower right side in my abdomen a little higher than my belly button, pain all down my legs and now my ankle. the pain is so bad in the morning its almost impossible to put any weight on it......HELP!
hi sir/mam, your guess is right and chronic cough is due to smoking tobacco.it is reversible with cessation of smoking.of course i know its very difficult but atleast you can reduce the count to 2-3/day.you can feel the improvement of lung status.coming to pain all over the body, I can list a few conditions which fit your symptoms : 1)fibromyalgia 2)polymyalgia rheumatica 3)hypothyroidism 4)autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) 5)severe anemia. of course there may be other reasons too but the above are to be ruled out first.you can consult an internal medicine expert and discuss the above.he/she may order few necessary investigations to arrive at a specific diagnosis and thus appropriate treatment.hope i'm clear.any further questions, please let me know.its my pleasure to be of any help to you.thank you.take care.bye.
