What Causes Body Ache And Fatigue While On Anti Depression Medication?

My husband is 57 years old. He is a diabetic and takes anti-depression medication. Over the last 4 or 5 years his drive to do anything has been decreasing. He hasn t worked for 20 months now. He started a little business in our garage but isn t doing much. He complains about aches and pains. Is tired a lot. And says he doesn t know what he want to do with his life. Is this medical or mental? Where do we start looking for answers

Hi,

These symptoms can be due to:
Diabetes which can lead to neuropathy and the body's inability to use glucose. Hence, the patient feels fatigue, pain and cramps.

So for antidepressants are concerned, this can decrease the activity of the brain controlling body so the patient feels lethargic and inactive which leads to fatigue.

So in your case, it is most likely from uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and to some extent use of antidepressant drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
