Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been experiencing all over body aches that are usually lessened by taking Advil. I have also been feeling very tired. Both of these are daily issues. I have been checked for thyroid disease within the last two years & tests were normal. I do have type 2 diabetes controlled by diet. Just really not feeling like my normal self & have been feeling bad enough to be concerned.
Hi, Thanks for your question. Please rate my answer if you are satisfied. In your case the cause of your fatigue and body aches could directly or indirectly be linked to your diabetes. As you said you are controlling your diabetes with diet, you may not be eating enough calories or you may only be eating protein and some fat. Eliminating carbs from your diet altogether causes fatigue as your body is deprived of a quick energy source. Being diabetic doesn't mean your body doesn't need carbs, it just can't process them. To resolve this, you should either go through google and find out a perfect diabetic meal plan or more effectively see a nutritionist to help you out. The second thing could be that your diabetes is actually not controlled. I can't say for sure of course because I don't have your record but you should just check it yourself. Get an HbA1C done. Lastly, probably you should consider starting on a medicine rather than controlling on diet alone as it definitely has some disadvantages.
