What Causes Body Aches Along With Hot Flushes And Swelling Around The Ankles?

I have body aches, cold and then hot - fever. Thought I may have flu so have taken Dimetapp cold and flu tablets for three days. Only new medication. I notice today that my ankles are swollen and I have a rash that is very prominent on the top of my foot, around my ankles and going up my leg. It is itchy around the ankle and is welt like on my lower legs. Not so much on my upper legs. I don t appear to have this rash on any other part of my body.

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Dimetapp contains combination of Brompheniramine and Phenylephrine used as decongestant in various clinical disorders of sinus congestion and others. The side effect profile of the drug includes:
- GI upset
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Visual blurring
- Body ache
- Rashes with itching
- Constipation
- Dry mouth or eyes
- Irritability
- Others
However, you should discuss the symptoms with your doc for further guidelines.
