What Causes Body Chills And Sore Throat Post Tonsillectomy?
Hi there, I had a tonsillectomy approximately 18 days ago and have come down with a really bad cold, fever, chills and sore throat. Is this normal? Should I be worried? And can I take anything to ease the symptoms as I have an exam tomorrow! Thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of body chills and sore throat post tonsillectomy which is due to persistence of severe upper respiratory tract infection due to poor and compromised immunity of body.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take throat lozenges and avoid cold carbonated beverages. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin in combination with antiallergic medication Sinarest. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get swab test, routine blood test and paranasal sinus x-ray done and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
