What Causes Body Chills While On Treatment For Skin Burn?

Yes, mom has second degree burns to both inner thighs the size of a hand. She saw dr. today and is putting silvadene cream on the burns twice a day after shower. Now she is having chills, are chills at this point (day2) normal?

Thank you for the query.burns cause damage to the skin.So the thermo regulatory mechanism of the skin is damaged depending on the site and size of burns. So fever shivers chills are found in such patients.also in later stage secondary infection may also cause it.if under antibiotic cover it may not be a cause to worry.If persists then consult doctor.
