Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an issue that if I lightly scratch my skin it will make large whelpped streaks. Will make my skin look and feel like an orange peel. It happens on different areas of the body and then causes itching in that area. I have tried multiple allergy medications this has been going on for months with no relief. Also have an elevated pulse, heart rate over 100 resting and I can feel it racing. EKG normal. Have hair loss in hand falls when brushed or run fingers through but not balding
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.
A possible cause of the skin rash that seems like hives and is lasting for months is chronic idiopathic urticaria. This is a chronic condition that the doctors are not sure which is the cause of it but it is thought to have some autoimmune mechanisms involved which might also explain the hair fall as well. You will need to talk to your doctor and have the necessary tests to rule out or diagnose chronic idiopathic urticaria and have the proper treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards, Antoneta Zotaj, MD
