Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doc, I am Shan... I have been experiencing a skunk like body odor from time to time for years... I ve tried antibacterial soap... Didn t work... Others doctors say it s unbalance ph in the body... Is there anything that can be taken to help keep ph balanced?
As per your query you have body odour that smells like a skunk . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but bad odor of body is very common problem , which occur due to apocrine glands develop in areas abundant in hair follicles, such as your armpits and groin, and they empty into the hair follicle just before it opens onto the skin surface . When your body temperature rises, your eccrine glands secrete fluid onto the surface of your skin . This fluid is odorless until it combines with bacteria found normally on your skin. I would suggest you to maintain personal hygiene , use antiperspirants that contain aluminium-based compounds that temporarily block the sweat pore and Deodorants that can eliminate odor but not perspiration . If condition doesn't get better then consult dermatologist for proper examination .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
