What Causes Body Stiffening, Frothing And Unconsciousness With Fever?

Hi doctor, my son is 1.5yrs old , he is underweight also. he was having fever and we gave him 5ml of crocine at 5am and repeated same dose at 10am. after some time his body got stiff and some white foam came out from his mouth and he became unconsious for 5minutes.. Please advice what to do ???

thank you for your question. boy has suffered from seizure...abnormal movements of body due to abnormal brain activity.mostly the cause looks fever induced seizure but its better to rule out infection if this is happening the first time.
look for following things
1. fever since > 2 days
2. if child is drowsy even now
3. any rash , diarrohea as add kn complaints
4 . irritable or crancky
its better to get his bloodwork done and see pediatrician or neurologist. recurrent seizure msy mandate EEG.
in such situation of high fever...immediately give paracetamol before it can rise further. keep
repeating 4-6 hourly...if no response in 2 hours then give meftal or ibugesic. once fever is controlld seizure will not occur. also give child tab clobazam 5 mg half tab twice a day for 3 days which will prevent further seizures. in active seizure keep midazolam nasal pump handy and give 2 puffs in each nostril when episodd is happening again.
