What Causes Body Swelling Along With Insomnia While On Cytomel?
Hello. I currently taking cytomel 5 mcg tab once a day it s been 14 months. Since I started I noticed swelling to whole body interrupted sleep, rash, itching , hair loss. fatigue. I Been diagnosed as hypothyroidism Three days ago I had a blood test (tsh) was 0.76 mc/ml . Thank you.
Thanks you for asking this question. I have undergone through your question. I understand your concern. Consult your endocrinologist for dose titration of Cytomel. Your TSH level should be in the range of 1-2. Body swelling is not due to cytomel. It is mostly due to hypothyroidism. But it causes insomnia. Advise 1. Consult endocrinologist to titrate dose of cytomel 2. Check your blood hemoglobin level. These symptoms may be due to anemia which is common in hypothyroidism Good luck
