Hello,

It is good to know that you have been out of Effexor. But you should have been in contact of a GP or detox center, to take care of your withdrawal symptoms. 48 hours after you have withdrawn from Effexor you may experience withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms may continue for 2-3 weeks. You are suggested to go to ER & get admitted.

You need urgent medical care to help yourself get comfortable. Anyways, take anti emetics to stop vomiting(throwing up), pain relievers(acetaminophen-Tylenol or Naproxen), just relax, don't panic.

You need rest & constant monitoring for a successful withdrawal. You may need anti psychotics & symptomatic treatment. You need intravenous fluids to maintain your body electrolyte system. Get admitted in a detox center or hospital, stay comfortable & at rest as you withdraw successfully.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
