What Causes Body Tremors?

Hi, I am 80 disabled vet, I have had tremors since discharge in 1955. Tremors much worse now. I am a Geo-chemist /Chemical Engineer. I take alcohol (perscribed) 25ml 40% twice per day (AM & noon). In 1954-5 I had PTSD, shock treatments etc. For punishment like "One Flew over the Coucu's Nest. The VA says the worsning tremors are not a result of the 1954-55 episode. It is not Parkensens I can concintrate and stop it . If the letter is funny its the tremors.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Tremors may be due to generalized weakness or due to alcohol withdrawal syndrome or stroke or multiple infracts or parkinsonism etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Take tablet Propranolol. (don't take if you're suffering from heart block or hypotension). If you're symptoms not improved please consult your neurophysician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care
