Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has several health issues but today a new one. While trying to sleep in his chair, I noticed his body twitching. He was only. A sleep for a few minutes when he sat up &said his left lunge was hurting & he had trouble catching his breath. What can this be?
Noted the short history about your husband having multiple medical problems but recently you noticed his body twitching while he was sleeping in a chair and he complained about pain in left chest.
The commonest causes of twitching are as follows: Electrolyte imbalance. Stress and anxiety. Any neurological problem like Multiple sclerosis. Hence I would advise him the following in such a situation: Consult your Doctor for preliminary examination, neurological in particularly. MRI of brain. Relevant tests of blood: CBC, Electrolytes, Vitamin D, D and B-complex. Second opinion of a Neurologist. The treatment will be as per the reports and clinical evaluation. Avoid stress and anxiety.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
