What Causes Bottom Teeth Starting To Turn Black Around Gum?

My front two bottom teeth are starting to turn black at the gum line. Some of my top teeth are as well. Any reason why this is happening? Suggestions on how to stop it or slow it down? I use to drink a whole lot of lemon juice growing up, could this be a cause?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain if your teeth are turning black near the gum line and you have multiple teeth in the upper jaw as well it seems that there is deposition of stains over the teeth which can be due to poor oral hygiene..

You need not to worry and just consult a dentist and get professional the cleaning of the teeth done known as Scaling so that the stains will be removed..
Stains are tightly bound to the teeth and cannot be removed by brushing of teeth so scaling is the only option..

Once you get the teeth cleaned ask the dentist to demonstrate proper brushing technique for reducing further staining of teeth..
If you have any tobacco chewing or smoking habit, cut down on it as it also causes staining of teeth..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your have symptoms of bottom teeth blackening around gum line is due to accumulation of pigments and food debris in that area. If you are a smoker it is adding on to your condition and leading to formation of calculus. Melanin deposition could be another cause. I would suggest you to visit dentist once and get it examined. Visit Periodontist and go for scaling and root planning of that area. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Rinse with antiseptic mouth wash. Do flossing daily.Go for subgingival Cleaning as well. Do brushing with soft bristles. Go for periodic checkup.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
