What Causes Bouts Of Allergies, Constant Hunger And Spitting In An Elderly Person?
My husband, 73 years old, had a lengthy bout with spring allergies and since then he has been constantly hawking and spitting (catarrh). It is worse at meals and when he goes to bed. It is driving me crazy - especially when he does it during a meal. I know he cannot help it, but what to do? He won t go to the doctor.

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to an allergic reaction. I suggest using antihistamines such as Benadryl daily. I also suggest using Hydrocortisone cream for local application.
