What Causes Bouts Of Anxiety And Shaking Feeling In My Legs?

I experience bouts of anxiety accompanied by shaking feeling in my legs when I face an emergency condition.I am on antidepressants for over 3 months. It started over an year ago when I was heavily stressed(due to some reason) to the extent that I was bedridden for almost 2 months.I had tensions built all over my muscles and felt restless and a will to die crept in.I have no way out.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Anxiety, tensions & worries are a portion of everyone's day to day life. Take it easy, never make these issues greater than your body systems; else the body will start showing psychosomatic responses & may make you unnecessarily uncomfortable. Medical reasons why you may have such symptoms are essential tremors, neurological disorder, restless leg syndrome which can be triggered by dehydration, low BP, low blood glucose levels, poor nutrition, inadequate sleep, addictions, depression(emotional/physical), nutritional deficiency, etc.

You are suggested to take healthy diet, food rich in protein, calcium, iron. Whole grains, fruits, veggies & berries. Take home made food, avoid frozen, packaged food. Cut on addictions if any, stay well hydrated (ORS/ Electrol), avoid negative peple or people who make you uncomfortable, make new friends, visit new places. Stay active, do regular exercise & take new projects. You may take muscle relaxants(Baclofen) for relieve but do not get addicted to them. Take adequate sleep.

If needed you may consult a Psychiatrist or Counselor to help you get out of restlessness & depression. You may need anti depressant medicines for a few days. Do not depend on them. Keep yourself busy. You may get clinically examined by a GP, to detect any pathology(medical condition) causing you discomfort, get tests done & treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
