What Causes Bouts Of Diarrhea Along With Vomiting And Headaches?

I am a 27 year old, healthy female. After eating Chipotle at 6 pm last evening, I had massive and repeated bouts of diarrhea until about 2 or 3 in the morning. I have felt extremely nauseous since, have only had sips of water and Gatorade and have had minor headaches throughout the day. I felt like vomiting on several occasions, however, was not able to do so. Does this sound like food poisoning? Do you think taking Ipecac to induce vomiting would help?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, it does sound like food poisoning and no, taking ipecac to induce vomiting is not a good idea.

This would worsen the nausea and vomiting and would get rid of the virus or bacteria causing the symptoms.

Taking sips of water or gatorade is a good idea , this would help to replace the fluid that you are losing and using it as sips is good because this would reduce the chance of vomiting it up.

Withhold all solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms.

Paracetamol/tylenol would help with the headache. Avoid ibuprofen, cataflam, naproxen which would worsen the stomach upset.

Dramamine or peptobismol would help with your symptoms.

I hope this helps
