Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
3 times every morning is normal for me. Trouble is, especially with the second one, I have very little warning, and often lose it before I make it to the toilet. Doctor says it s the bacteria imbalance and put me on PROBIOTIC. Have been taking a week and see no difference yet. Will I see improvement if I continue to take it? I am afraid to go anywhere for fear of an accident, and that HAS happened.
Bowel incontinence can be caused by various factors and most of these are genetically controlled either due to increased release of hormones causing frequent bowel incontinence. Such conditions as in your case need diet and lifestyle changes than drugs and medications.
Both foods and gut flora or bacteria can influence. Therefore, I suggest you dietary modifications as:
- Identify foods which increase it and substitute them.
- Use the fiber-based diet, try curd and milk mixed in solution form and take it to reduce the consumption of coffee and carbonated beverages.
- Take good sleep and take plenty of fluids.
- Drugs can be used to manage it but I am not in favour of drugs as dietary modifications can manage it better than drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar,
Dentist
