What Causes Breakthrough Bleeding During Menstruation?

i get breakthrough bleeding while taking althea pills.. i went to a gynie and she done some physical check up.. she still recommend to continue althea pills.. is my chance of getting breakthrough bleeding again lessen? because a gynie recommends it.. my first pack isn't a gynie prescribe i just use it w/o prescription..
