What Causes Breathing Difficulties With Throat Discomfort?
Hello, (female,34, 110 lbs) I have difficulty breathing after eating solid/cold/spicy food, breathing cold air, extensive talking/singing (eg.: two hours of continuous speech). Asthma was not confirmed. I do not feel the tightness in my chest by rather in my throat. It feels like the throat is swollowed. I have high sedimantation and CRP, chronic tonsilitis. Thyroid gland is within normal. What do you think is the cause/treatment? Thank you very much for any suggestions. I appreciate it. Best regards!
Thanks for your question on Healthcare. I can understand your concern. You are having recurrent viral upper respiratory tract infection and this can cause bronchitis (inflammation of airways). This bronchitis can cause breathing difficulty, chest tightness, pressure etc. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Clinical examination of respiratory system 2. PFT (pulmonary function test). PFT will not only diagnose bronchitis but it will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only. You may need inhaled bronchodilator and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). Surgical removal from for tonsils (tonsillectomy) is also advisable in chronic tonsillitis. So consult you're doctor and discuss all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
