What Causes Breathing Difficulty After Falling Down?

I fell off a horse (onto my back) about a week ago and have had trouble taking deep breaths ever since. There was some pain when breathing normally the next day or two but that feels alright now. I have no trouble when breathing with my belly, but breathing with my chest is still difficult.

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.

The breathing difficulty which you are experiencing is due to either fracture of the ribs ( which is more likely ) or due to bleeding inside the chest. The cause for this problem has to be evaluated for the proper treatment .

I would advise you to get a chest X ray which will show if there is any fracture of the ribs or bleeding inside the chest.

Kindly revert back with the X ray report.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.
