What Causes Breathing Difficulty After Insertion Of A Cardiac Stent?

My father is 85 years old and in generally good health. He had a stent put in on the 3rd of January and had a very bad reaction to the anesthesia. He was in ICU for two days and then the hospital for one more day. He is having trouble breathing. He had a chest xray and it was clear. The doctor does not know what the problem is. He is very uncomfortable and is eating very little as he says he feels full and too much pressure on his ability to breath. Oxygen saturation is at 100% when we went to the ER. Any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a physician and get evaluated.

We have to rule out possible causes like pneumothorax.

A detailed evaluation including chest X-ray and serial ECG is required for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
