What Causes Breathing Difficulty After Tracheostomy?

I have had a tracheostomy operation and lately I ve had trouble breathing out through my speaking valve. I can take air in but to breathe out, is like trying to breathe through a straw. Do you know what is wrong. Regards. Annette. YYYY@YYYY

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to tracheal (air pipe) injury.
Consult a physician and get evaluated.
A CR thorax is required for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
