What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Chest Tightness Before Sleeping?

I ve been having difficulty breathing normally right before bed, I ll lay down and find myself having to think about breathing to actually breathe. Then I will get a tightness in my air way, which causes me to worry and stay up more than I need to. Do you know what s wrong?

Understanding your concern .As per your query you have breathing difficulty and chest tightness before sleeping . There can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like benign paroxysmal positional angina , acid reflux , chest infection . The symptoms you mention in query can also occur due to cardiac problem like heart attack , so consult cardiologist without any delay, who may order ECG , TMT along with complete blood profile . Doctor may prescribe sedative , betablockers , isosorbid nitrate along with diuretic . I would suggest you to consult chest specialist or gastroenterologist for acid reflux for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order chest x-ray .
