What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Damaged Vocal Cords?
My husband returned from a trip to Europe 3 weeks ago. He entered the hospital 3 days ago, and physicians are confused as to what his diagnosis is.. He has a hard time breathing, face is redish and flushed, and part of his vocal cords no longer function. He is on a liquid died... however, his mind seems to be clear.. Is this a Brain Cell Stroke? The drs here are very puzzled and have not diagnosed it. Could it be the long trip to Europe that brought this on?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have breathing difficulty and damaged vocal cords. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like acid reflux , chest infection , laryngitis or upper respiratory track infection.
I would suggest you to consult chest specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order chest x-ray , check vitals and blood test . Doctor may refer you to ENT specialist, who may prescribe antibiotics course along with anti inflammatory. For now eat light and non spicy specially at night , take steam , take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
