What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Dry Heaving?

I get what seems like asthma attacks, every time I carry heavy items up the stairs. I also get an excessive build up of phlegm along with the chest heaviness and not being able to breath, which results in dry heaving. This only occurs when I try to carry heavier objects up the stairs....any ideas what might be causing this? Thank you

Hello,

It can be due to various reasons:
-Chronic bronchitis
-Emphysema depends in your age
-Heart problem

Most of the times, difficulty in breathing upon moving upstairs or taking a load is because of heart disease. Therefore, both possibilities cannot be ruled out.

It is better to get consulted by a cardiologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
