What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Fluid In The Lungs?

My Uncle is in the hospital with what they think might be heart failure and partially collapsed lungs. But the MRI he had today didn t show heart failure. He can t breathe and his heart is up and down. Fluid in his and around his heart. Lungs have fluids and partially collapsed and they still don t know what s going on.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, your uncle is having pericardial effusion (fluid around heart) and pleural effusion (fluid around lung).
These are commonly seen with malignancy, viral infection, liver, kidney and heart failure.
Best way to diagnose is by aspiration of fluid and send it for investigations.
So discuss about aspiration of fluid with his doctor so that we can know the cause for all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your uncle. Thanks.
