What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Sore Throat In A Child?

hi. My 7 year old daughter has rapid shallow labored breathing. She also has a sore throat. she has been laying around all day sleeping and resting. She has been drinking water. I don t know if this is viral or an allergic reaction or something else? We moved to a new house and area in the wood and have tons of pollen in the air like clouds of it. She hasn t had seasonal allergies but can that develop? Any advice is helpful. We just relocated and don t have a doctor here yet.

Hi,

The mentioned symptoms suggestive of acute bronchitis infection. It can be viral or allergic bronchitis. In allergic inflammation there is presence of sneezing predominantly. Your symptoms possibly from allergic inflammation.
But for confirmation I suggest you investigate with complete blood count report. Decongestant like Levocetirizine and anti allergic medication like Montelukast can be prescribed for improvement.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
