What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Wheezing After Taking Losartan?

I am a 70 year old male .Six months ago I underwent a quadruple cabg. A three month review with the surgical team resulted in losartan being added to my medication. Within 2 weeks I started to experience laboured breathing and poor sleep at night, slight wheeziness all the time and low back pain and bladder area pain. These symptoms stopped when I stopped Losartan for 10 days. Is there an alternative to Losartan....not Ramipril which gives me a hacking cough?

Hello,

If you mean alternatives in the same class then there are plenty such as Valsartan, Irbesartan, Olmesartan, Candesartan, Telmisartan.

Of course, there are other medications for blood pressure belonging to other classes, but more specifics about your case are needed before making such changes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
