What Causes Breathing Difficulty And Wheezing?

HI Ive had allergy like symptoms for the last 2 days. Today I started having diffuculty breathing. I feel like I am not getting enough air and my breathing is noisy. Also it gets worse when I lay down. I find I get winded after getting up from a chair or just walking a little ways.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you are having difficulty breathing then it would be best for you to be seen by your doctor as soon as possible.

It is not a common symptom of allergy related disease and more serious conditions would need to be ruled out. If your nasal passages are very obstructed, it can affect breathing.

I hope this helps.
