Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Breathing Difficulty Despite Being On Advair?
Mu Husband has asthma and is on advair 250. His breathing was getting better as he went to one treatment a day instead of two. He had a pacemaker put in on Sept.1st,2016. Since then his breathing has worsened. He has gone for check ups and they say the pacemaker is working fine. We do not know what is wrong.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Breathing difficulties may be of respiratory (asthma, infection) or cardiovascular origins. Since his pacemaker is working well, a heart origin may be less likely. I will advise if he goes back to 2 doses of Advair per day, rest well, and see his pneumologist for reevaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
