Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Breathing Difficulty While On Hydrocodone?
I have copd and have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 4 times /day was recently switched to hysingle 40 but have woke up at night having trouble breathing and have to use nebulizer should I not be taking this medication the regular hydrocodone doesn t bother me should I go back to that
Hydrocodone 10-325 is a combination of Hydrocodone (10 mg) with Acetaminophen (325 mg); while Hysingla 40 contains only Hydrocodone 40 mg. They are used to treat pain. They are not treating COPD.
Having trouble while breathing during the night is exacerbation of COPD attack. Should consult with pulmonologist and run respiratory function tests in order to start appropriate treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Albana Sejdini
