Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just started taking Latuda 4 days ago, 20mg/day. After my 2nd dose, I noticed that it feels hard to breathe. My breathing is very shallow, and I have to make a conscious effort to breathe. As a result, i have been lightheaded. It feels awful. I m wondering if this is just a transient side effect that will pass or if it s likely to continue.
The drug Latuda (Lurasidone) can cause breathing difficulty. It is advised if that happens it is better to stop the drug and seek your doctor’s advice. So please do not continue the drug, before you consult your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar
