What Causes Breathing Difficulty While On A Cardiac Stent?

Hello my name is Diana I recently had a heart attack in which a stent was put in the artery when released fron the hospital one of my meds was Brilinta which was causing me discomfort and I was having trouble breathing I told my Dr and he switched me to Plavix Friday was day 2 of taking it and last evening I started noticing my breathing was affected not quite as bad as with the Brilinta what do I do I am 71 and until now never had any health issues is there any blood thinners that don t cause this side effect all the other meds I am taking are fine

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Brilinta may cause difficulty in breathing in approximately 20% of patients, but Plavix is not very known for such problems. I suggest you to go to the doctor and do a cardiac sonography to see if this problem is from the heart function. If you need diuretics to add in your therapy, you don't have one or to increase the doses if you have one. Plavix is very important like Brilinta for patient who have stents.
