What Causes Breathing Difficulty While Suffering From COPD?
I have COPD..... smoked for 49 years....just learned I have it. thought I had bronchitus as that s what my dr. said...dr. put me on antibiotic for 6 days ....Never got any better so I went to ER couldn t catch my breath. air was 93....bp went as high as 180/100, but never have had high blood pressure...... had been bringing up a lot of mucus.. was given 3 inhalation treatments 1st one was a steroid with albuterol...2nd inhalation was albuterol...3rd inhalation I think was another albuterol. also gave me rescue inhaler to take home & script for Prednisone 2x20 mg a day for 4 days. My Question is.. how do I know what stage I m in?

first stop smoking. if cancerous changes has taken place it is reversible and you will improve donot start steroid as it can induce complication. masking of symptoms can be done and require tapering of steroid can take treatment for bronchialasthma and hypertention including diet control like salt free diet
