Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Breathing Difficulty While Suffering From Congestive Heart Failure?
Hi I am a 32 year old female with congestive heart failure and pulmonary hypertension which is high blood pressure in the arteries of my lungs I ve currently been discharged from the hospital on Saturday and I m prescribed 80 mg of Lasix and I m not avoiding it all every two steps I lose my breath and I m losing it as I write speak this to you now I have a heartbeat (pulse/minute.of 114 which I believe is tachycardia should I go to the ER to get myself checked out?
I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and pulmonary hypertension and are now short of breath. It sounds like you are very short of breath, and so, assuming this is significantly worse than when you left the hospital.
I would recommend you go to the ER to possibly get IV medicine to help you get rid of some of the fluid that could be backed up into your lungs. You do have tachycardia, which may be your heart's response to your body not getting enough blood pumped to it, and it is much faster than when you were discharged, this would be another concerning sign.
I hope that answers your question, and that you are able to get in to see a doctor and start feeling better soon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
