What Causes Breathing Difficulty While Suffering From Pulmonary Fibrosis?

I have Pulmonary Fibrosis - Intersetional (sp) lung disease. I am now experiencing for several weeks congestion with thick phlegm associated, cough, wheezing, and of course difficulty in breathing. Is this a sign my disease is progressing more now?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, all these symptoms are suggestive of worsening of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).
IPF is chronic progressive lung disease.
Honestly speaking, it is incurable.
We can not revert the fibrosis.
But now a days, Perfinodone is the drug useful for IPF.
It is anti fibrotic drug and prevents further fibrosis.
So start this drug.
Along with Perfinodone, N acetyl cystine (NAC), inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) should also be started to relieve symptoms.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
