What Causes Breathing Trouble And Asthma After Taking Allergy Shots?

My daughter (21 yrs) recently started allergy shots. She believes she received the incorrect shots yesterday. She normally receives 3 shots but only received 2 and the color appeared different. Today she is having trouble with her asthma and the injection area is very itchy. She is taking her rescue inhaler every 4 hours. Does she need to be seen since we have no idea what she received?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

She may be developing an allergic reaction to the shot. It is important that she lets the medical provider know as soon as possible and access medical help.
Allergic reactions that cause shortness of breath (asthma) can be serious and prompt medical assistance is needed.

I hope this is helpful and answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
