What Causes Breathlessness And Chest Pain While Suffering From Chronic Cough?

I have been getting over a cough over the last 2 weeks. Today I started to feel as though I couldn t breathe. I feel like I am suffocating/drowning. This caused me to have a panic attack and ended up in Urgent care with a full blown melt down. My hands and arms up to my elbows were numb and I couldn t open my hands. My chest hurts from trying to catch my breath. They gave me a breathing treatment and gave me an albuterol inhaler, prednisone and clonazipam. Im still unsure of what is wrong with me and how do I get to where I can breathe. I am miserable and in pain. What do I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
you seem to have had a bout of bronchospasm following probably a combination of allergic and infective aetiology of the respiratory tract
the best course of action will be a x ray chest and a pulmonatr function test with a complete blood count to decide the cause and course of treatment get these done and upload the results only then some suitable advice can be given
