What Causes Breathlessness And Chest Tightness After Discontinuing Levothyroxine?
I am on 75mg levotroxine for an under active thyroid problem. I have stopped taking it recently as I found that the side effects are too much to handle, shortness of breath, chest tightness, weight gain and irritability. Can you suggest something else instead of this drug? Thank you.
Understanding your concern .As per your query you have breathlessness and chest tightness after discontinuing Levothyroxine , which is also known as vertigo . There can be many reasons for dizziness like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo , migraines , labyrinthitis or vestibular neuronitis . The symptoms you mention in query can also occur due to cardiac problem like heart attack , so consult cardiologist without any delay, who may order ECG , TMT along with complete blood profile . Doctor may prescribe sedative , betablockers , isosorbid nitrate along with diuretic . I would suggest you to consult chest specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order chest x-ray .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
