What Causes Breathlessness, High Pulse Rate And Coughing During Depression?

What condition is this ? When my husband is very tensed or deeply depressed he tends to go breathless with high pulse rate. His limbs looses strength and he starts coughing a lot. Soon after he is calm things seem normal. What should I do in emergency?

Hello

Welcome to HCM!!

From the description of the events"When my husband is very tensed or deeply depressed he tends to go breathless with high pulse rate. His limbs looses strength and he starts coughing a lot." it seems that he suffers from panic attack which is common in severe depression or stress. There no need to worry as it is not life threatening. There is a tablet called Clonazepam 0.25 mg which can be given which will immediately relieve the symptoms.

I hope this will help

God Bless
