I have an xray because over the last 12months my breathing is becoming more and more difficult. It say the heart size is within normal limits. Cardiomediastinal contours are unremarkable. No focal collapse or consolidation is demonstrated. There is mild coarsening of bronchovascular markings, non-specific. There is no evidence of a pleural effusion or pneumothorax. what does this means. I also have back pain between my shoulder blades and pain in my bladder. My father comes from a family of 12 children. All have passed away with cancers. could I have cancer
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. I have gone through the x ray report you have mentioned. It is not suggestive of lung cancer, so no need to worry for cancer. Mild prominence of bronchovascular markings on chest x ray and breathlessness with chesty, shoulder paid are commonly seen with bronchitis. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (pulmonary function test). PFT will not only diagnose bronchitis but it will also tell you about severity of the disease. And treatment is based on severity only. You may need inhaled bronchodilator and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). Don't worry, you will be alright. No need to worry for lung cancer. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
