What Causes Bright Flashes Of Light In The Field Of Vision?
Hi. I just started noticing last night that I was seeing some bright flashes of light in my right eye when I blinked. It doesn t happen every time I blink. It still happened this morning when it was dark outside. During the day today, I ve been noticing a haze that happens when I blink, but no bright flashes. Yesterday I spent about 10 mts outside watering plants without my sunglasses. I ve seen floaters for years but the eye doctor hasn t been too concerned about them as they do not always happen and are not large floaters. I just had an eye exam in June and nothing concerning was detected. I have not had any headaches or any trauma to my head that would cause anything to happen. I have been working on a computer at work for the past 16 years but this hasn t been a problem before. Should I go back to my eye doctor or is there something I can do myself? Thank you.

What Causes Bright Flashes Of Light In The Field Of Vision?
Hi, You need a retina examination and that too soon. It could be a hole in your retina and that needs a laser to close or else it could cause detachment. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
