Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain red
swollen gums is a common finding in case of infants who are
teething and you need not to worry about it and in case of your son the red gums are due to inflammation..
In case if the swelling in gums is covering the erupted baby teeth then there is also another possibility that along with swollen gums due to teething there is also some deposits over the teeth that are the source of infection leading to increased inflammation and swelling..
Nothing to worry, consult a Pedodontist and get him evaluated and in case if there are some deposits he will clean them and gradually the swelling will reduce..
Antibiotics can also be advised..
As of now you can do
cold compresses over his gums for reducing inflammation and swelling..
Maintain a good
oral hygiene by keeping his gums clean..
If he has the urge to bite give him refrigerated and chilled rings so that he does not take anything in mouth that can further cause oral and stomach infections..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
