Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have got what looks to be broken capillaries or blood vessels under the skin along my left leg directly above my ankle.. mid way to my knee....it is not raised or dry, it covers several inches on the inside of my calf, but not on the outside... I have a small patch on my right calf... same area... it didn t really itch until today ( had it for a week) ... it was very red and a little warm. My legs are heavy and I have always had heavy ankles/legs. I do not have diabetes... only meds are omeprazole and Adderall... it might be otherwise compared to an allergic reaction but I don t know what to...no new laundry detergent or new fabric touching the area... there has been no trauma to the area, not a heat rash.... ?? my doctor told me it would go away but I am still wondering what it could be from... it has been a week and is still present but less noticeable...
Broken capillaries in legs associated with redness, itchiness and warm skin can be due to primary blood vessel inflammation e.g. vasculitis. I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
