Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My period started 2days b4 the expected date, had sex 5 days after my last period, and now m having brown blood with tissue-like particles. Could it be an infection and do I need to go check myself out cos it's not the first time am having this brown blood instead of the red period blood. Thank you
Hello and welcome to HCM, Passage of brown colored discharge and tissue particles is common during initial days of menstrual cycle. Tissue particles are usually due to passage of blood clots. If the menstrual cycles are heavy, irregular and if these changes are recent, you need to consult your gynecologist. Menstrual irregularities are common in healthy menstruating females. The most common cause of irregular menstrual cycles is hormonal imbalance. Thus, consult your gynecologist in case of irregular periods.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
