What Causes Brown Coating On The Palate In A Diabetic?
I have pre- diabetes diagnosed, recent ( April 28th) Moderate TBI with a TIA Stroke and three concussion intercerebral bleeds that resolved. Since the Stroke/ concussion - I have had a thick, dark-brown colored coating that forms on the roof of my mouth every time I sleep. Prior to the TBI, I did not have this occurrence, nor was my blood sugar slightly elevated in testing. Is the coating a side-effect of the TBI ? I lost a portion of my hearing and my entire sense of smell with the TBI.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of brown coating on the palate in a diabetic which seems to be due to poor and immunocompromised state of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to :
- Do warm saline gargles and gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water will help..
- Take a soft diet and avoid spicy and hot food substances.
- Apply orabase gel on palate if it is hurting you.
- Take diet rich in vitamin B12 and multivitamins.
