What Causes Brown Discoloration On The Back?

It has recently been brought to my attention that once in awhile i have a discoloration on my back that resembles a leopard print. I am very light skinned and it is like a brownish tan with lighter spots in the middle approx... 1/2 to 1 inch in diameter. This does fade and go away after awhile but im not sure what causes it .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it doesn't appear to be of much worrisome but if recurred frequently or persists or worsens, then it needs to be reviewed by a dermatologist and baseline blood work up like blood counts especially platelets counts, as well as coagulation profile, needs to be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin,
