What Causes Brown Drainage At The Incision Site Post Tympanoplasty?

I am two weeks post op afyer tympanoplasty with skin graft and removal of cyst. Had usual post op pain for a few days, then had little discomfort until yesterday. I am experiencing sharp constant pain, not relieved by ibuprofen. No fever, small amount of brown drainage. Incision behind ear is intac. Had to see resident at clinic and he brushed me off saying I ve seen worse. ...no explanation. Is this pain normal?
