General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
If cow milk is available at your place, cow milk with equal amount of water to start with (the water content to be decreased slowly over a period of 1 month and start with pure cow milk depending on digestion of baby) +1/4 spoon of sugar to be boiled, strained & then given with a small glass or spoon & bowel (this is to avoid reuse of same bottle & infection that follows. If you prefer bottle, boiled bottle with nipple to be used for each feed). Introduce change of milk gradually checking good digestion. Considering chances of infection with powdered formula, now a days it's avoided as far as possible.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
